  Bold Journal Number:  Determines whether journal number is set in bold face. Yes No   Italic Journal Name:  Determines whether journal name is set in italic face. Yes No
  Emphasize: Optional facility to set an author's name in bold face. If ambiguity is likely, include first initial(s), e.g. Smith JB. This field is case-sensitive. Multiple names can be separated by +, e.g. Smith+Jones.   Author Periods: Determines whether author initials will be followed by periods. Yes No
  Use Template: For the creation of custom formats based on MEDLINE field codes using the box to the right. Yes No   Template: Compose your own format, using any combination of MEDLINE field names and HTML codes for bold and italic, etc. If you would like to include capital letters as text, surround the capitalized letters with bars, e.g. |PMID| will cause "PMID" to appear, not the PubMed PMID field. SO1 and SO2 are the journal number and page fields (not true MEDLINE fields) and DP is truncated to the year digits only. The default template is shown.

Alternatively, download a MEDLINE format file from PubMed (from any PubMed search results page, select "Send to" near the top right of the results, choose "file", and select "MEDLINE" format) and paste the entire file contents into the field below.
