Lectures will be given by a collaboration of investigators from Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children's Hospital Boston, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachussetts General Hospital, Boston University Medical Center, and MIT/Whitehead Institute.

Topics include:

• Fundamental concepts, including definitions of the genome, transcriptome, and proteome
• Relevant concepts in basic molecular genetics
• Fundamentals in design and analysis of human population association and family-based studies
• Fundamentals in design and analysis of animal experiments
• Web-based tools
• Applying course concepts to disease-based examples
